SUMMARY OF 500 AM HST...1500 UTC...INFORMATION ---------------------------------------------- LOCATION...20.5N 143.1W ABOUT 780 MI...1255 KM E OF HILO HAWAII MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS...35 MPH...55 KM/H PRESENT MOVEMENT...W OR 280 DEGREES AT 13 MPH...20 KM/H MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE...1007 MB...29.74 INCHES WATCHES AND WARNINGS -------------------- There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect. DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 500 AM HST (1500 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Norbert was located near latitude 20.5 North, longitude 143.1 West. The post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the west near 13 mph (20 km/h) and this motion is expected to continue during the next day or so. Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph (55 km/h) with higher gusts. Gradual weakening is forecast, and the remnant low is expected to dissipate on Wednesday. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches). HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND ---------------------- None. 000 WTPA41 PHFO 151432 TCDCP1 Post-Tropical Cyclone Norbert Discussion Number 24 NWS Central Pacific Hurricane Center Honolulu HI EP142026 Issued by NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 500 AM HST Tue Sep 15 2026 Norbert has lacked organized deep convection for about 18 hours now, and the only remaining thunderstorm activity is more than 120 n mi from the center. Based on the persistent lack of organized convection, Norbert no longer qualifies as a tropical cyclone, and this is the last advisory on this system. The initial intensity is estimated to be around 30 kt. The remnant low is moving westward at about 11 kt, and this general motion is expected to continue until the system opens into a trough on Wednesday.
