NEW INFORMATION

SITUATION OVERVIEW

The center of Hurricane Laura was located inland over northwestern
Louisiana near latitude 31.9 North, longitude 93.1 West. Laura is
moving toward the north and this motion should continue through today.
The center of Laura is forecast to move over Arkansas tonight, the
mid-Mississippi Valley on Friday, and the mid-Atlantic states on
Saturday. Laura is expected to become a tropical storm withing the next
few hours, and weaken to a tropical depression tonight.

Laura will no longer pose a threat to areas within the
Houston/Galveston County Warning Area, thus, all watches and warnings
have been canceled. At the coast, seas and elevated tides will combine
and continue to lead to some minor coastal flooding. Therefore, the
current Coastal Flood Warnings and Advisories will continue in effect
through 4 PM CDT today. Small Craft Advisories for the bays and Gulf
waters will also remain in effect through 4 PM CDT today.

POTENTIAL IMPACTS

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS

Be alert for any lingering wind gusts which could take down weakened
trees and/or power lines, collapse damaged structures, or cause
flying debris.

Do not drive through places where flood waters cover the road. Turn
around, don't drown!
