SUMMARY OF 300 PM MDT...2100 UTC...INFORMATION ---------------------------------------------- LOCATION...23.7N 113.3W ABOUT 225 MI...360 KM WNW OF THE SOUTHERN TIP OF BAJA CALIFORNIA MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS...30 MPH...45 KM/H PRESENT MOVEMENT...N OR 360 DEGREES AT 8 MPH...13 KM/H MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE...1007 MB...29.74 INCHES WATCHES AND WARNINGS -------------------- There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect. DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK ---------------------- At 300 PM MDT (2100 UTC), the center of Post-Tropical Cyclone Iselle was located near latitude 23.7 North, longitude 113.3 West. The post-tropical cyclone is moving toward the north near 8 mph (13 km/h), and this motion is expected today, followed by a motion toward the north-northwest on Monday. Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 30 mph (45 km/h) with higher gusts. Iselle should gradually lose strength during the next day or so before decaying into a surface trough on Tuesday. The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches). 498 WTPZ44 KNHC 302035 TCDEP4 Post-Tropical Cyclone Iselle Discussion Number 18 NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL EP142020 300 PM MDT Sun Aug 30 2020 Iselle hasn't produced organized deep convection for about the past day, so it no longer meets the definition of a tropical cyclone. Thus, it is now a post-tropical remnant low, and this is the last advisory. The initial wind speed is set to 25 kt, which matches a recent ASCAT-B pass. Models are in good agreement on the low gradually turning from its current northward heading to north- northwest tomorrow and slowly weakening due to a poor environment. The low is expected to degenerate into a trough of low pressure on Tuesday, and no changes were made from the previous forecast.
