Hurricanes / Typhoons / Cyclones
Cyclocane currently tracks any tropical cyclcones that are covered by the National Hurricane Center, the Joint Typhoon Warning Center, or the Central Pacific Hurricane Center.
The NHC covers the Atlantic and Eastern Pacific Basins. The CPHC covers the Central Pacific Basin, and the JTWC covers the Indian Ocean and the West and South Pacific Basins (though the JTWC also issues warnings on Central and East Pacific storms, they don't issue general tropical weather outlooks for those areas).
Technical Details
This site was written in Ruby using the Middleman static site generator.
The custom maps use Leaflet as the mapping library. Stamen's toner map is currently the default base layer.
Google Maps are embedded via gmaps.js.
